SSRC Seminar: Practice Talks for SSRC Retreat
Practice talks for the SSRC Retreat, each talk is 20 minutes with 10 minutes of feedback
1. Erik Steggall, XBOX Forensics
2. Yasuhiro Ohara, "K-d Crossing: Multidimensional Binary Search for Use in Metadata Search in File Systems"
Abstract:
A new multidimensional search structure, k-d crossing, was
developed, for use in exascale file systems search. The k-d
crossing is expected to perform efficiently for range search
query in k-dimensions (k > 2), at the expense of high memory
overhead. Preliminary evaluation shows feasible search
query performance of 1.3M IO/s on one million random data
points, despite of the naive implementation.
