Seminar: Accelerating iSCSI Proxy I/O in Block Storage Clusters

Speaker

Dr. Andy Spry, LSI

Abstract

This talk examines accelerating iSCSI proxy I/O in block storage clusters. Existing block storage scale-out cluster technologies are defined. The iSCSI protocol features and architectural structure needed for storage scale-out are described. The methods needed to accelerate iSCSI I/O for iSCSI and iSER are defined using accelerated read, write, and task management examples. The presentation concludes with an estimate of the benefits of accelerated iSCSI proxy I/O in a block storage cluster.
