Ethan L. Miller

Ethan L. Miller is a Professor Emeritus of Computer Science and Engineering in the Jack Baskin School of Engineering, where he held the Veritas Presidential Chair in Storage from 2016 until his retirement in 2023. He is the Founding Director and Director Emeritus of the NSF IUCRC Center for Research in Storage Systems. He was a member of the RAID project at UC Berkeley, where he did his PhD on a decentralized parallel file system for high-end scientific computing. His current research interests include archival storage systems, file systems for storage-class memories. and issues in reliability, scalability, and security, both for short-term and archival storage.

Prof. Miller is an IEEE Fellow and an ACM Distinguished Scientist. His ORCiD is ORCID iD icon0000-0003-2994-9060.
