Seminar: Data Sequentiality Potential for Data De-duplication Schemes

Speaker

Stephanie Jones

Abstract

Data de-duplication is becoming increasingly important in corporations to help maximize storage space. While data de-duplication allows for disk space maximization, it can cause fragmentation that leads to poor read performance. This talk will discuss data sequentiality in whole files, file system requests that make files, and the potential performance impact of this data sequentiality.
